My experience with Living Room Conversations’ capacity to heal
I was initially drawn to Living Room Conversations after witnessing the transformation that takes place when people of varying backgrounds, perspectives, and beliefs intentionally come together and share their own, as well as listen to others’, experiences. A Living Room Conversation that I recently participated in was on the topic of healing. Each of us who took part, in our own way, shared our deep desire to heal what felt broken within us. Although we all had different definitions of what healing meant to us, a common thread amongst our individual sentiments was the idea that to heal is to become whole. This drive to move towards wholeness permeates society at every level and connects us to the humanity we all share. During these times of increasing polarization, Living Room Conversations continues to show me there is so much more that connects us than divides us. The process of healing does not occur within a vacuum; we can not do this alone. So, I invite you to join us in this pursuit of collective healing. Every one of us has the potential to be the medicine, the change our communities desperately need. There is no better time than now to continue our journey of making a way for conversations in our communities. How we can support you in this work – If you would like to get started hosting Living Room Conversations in your area, we invite you to read our free Hosting information or attend a free online Host training available on our Events Page when offered.
