Each Person’s Story is Valuable: Our Race and Ethnicity Series

We are offering an online experience of our powerful three-Conversation Race and Ethnicity series on three Fridays in February—the 14th, 21st and 28th. Times for this 90-minute Conversation are 1:30-3pm ET/10:30am-noon PT.

We welcome you to join us! If you’d like a taste of this series, click here for a short video. You’ll also find links to the series Guides and the questions we will be exploring together on that page.

This series offers each participant a chance to speak to their own experiences of race and ethnicity, and to hear the experiences of others.  Our trained hosts and tried and true Conversation Agreements provide a way for participants to explore questions like: “Were conversations about race a part of your upbringing? If so, how was the subject approached? How did people around you talk about other races?” As one participant reported, “The ground rules laid out at the beginning made me feel free to share from my own experience and know that others were going to be asked not to judge or argue.”

As with all our online Conversations, we offer this series to give you an opportunity to enjoy and learn from this practice, with the hope that it will inspire you to bring Living Room Conversations to your own community.

LRC Question of the Week:

How do you stay fully present and attentive when deeply listening to someone?

A good question is a great way to connect with someone—and a way to understand yourself and others a little better. Most of our Conversation Guides contain five or six great questions.

We want to help people build the habit of connecting with curiosity in our daily lives. So we’re inviting you to engage with a question each week—by answering the Question of the Week yourself or asking a friend, colleague or family member. With your permission, we can share your responses and hopefully increase people’s interest in curious connecting conversations. You can respond to our question of the week by replying to this email!
