Join us for a virtual discussion on “Affirmative Action: Higher Education” as we dive into its impact and future prospects on November 29.
As high-school students are in the midst of college admission season, we look to a recent ruling that ended affirmative action. Affirmative action is “intended to alleviate under-representation and to promote the opportunities of defined minority groups within a society to give them equal access to that of the majority population” especially in terms of college admissions. The Youth Council is excited to be partnering with University of Maryland’s Bridge USA chapter for this conversation event. We will discuss our perspective on this recent ruling and its implications in the admissions process along with the overall culture of higher education.
Open to all high-school and college aged students.
